SAFARIS are meant to be action packed, fun filled interactive adventures. They are unique in every sense of the word, life changing, and it is no wonder people get bitten by the safari bug and return time and time again on safari.
Activities
‘’Super Sensory Safari”
I obviously love everything about cultures, wildlife, ethology, conservation, history, geography, astronomy, photography and much more. I love teaching guests and so be prepared for a super sensory experience like no other!
Your adventure with me is private in every sense of the word. I mainly utilize Private Game Reserves or concessions which are the ‘’creme de la crème’’ of safaris!
Private concessions are not bound by some of the stricter rules enforced in the National Parks and Game Reserves.
For example, one can walk, go on night drives, and best of all, one will see very few other vehicles during your entire stay which is extremely special.
All guests who travel with me hire a private game drive vehicle whilst in the camps which means no other guests will join us ensuring flexibility and privacy.Depending on the safari you choose, activities can be extremely diverse ranging from game drives, night drives, walking, canoeing, boating, hot air ballooning, horse riding, cultural tours, birding and fishing.
‘’An adrenaline moment’’
Exploring the African bush in an open sided game drive vehicle is exciting and allows us to get up close and personel to a myriad of big game. Don’t be surprised if a lion sleeps in the shadow of our vehicle! And yes, it is safe…
‘’Encounters of the first kind’’
…One of my favorite past times is tracking wildlife on foot, yes, walking safaris!
Stretching the legs and taking the time to utilize all of one’s senses is extra ordinary and exhilarating to say the least.
Walks are conducted at a leisurely pace and give a totally different, yet unique perspective to viewing wildlife.
Unless you’re on a true “walking safari”, most of the walking takes place after a short drive when an exciting situation arises. It is always at your guide’s discretion. This is why it is important not to dress in bright clothing because it makes you stand out and frightens away the wildlife.
You need to blend into the bush and this ideally means wearing neutral colours such as green, brown and beige. This way you will probably be able to creep up to a 6-ton elephant and enjoy his company while he happily, yet unknowingly, browses close to you!
‘’Life changing experience’’
I have always been fascinated with Africa’s rich and diverse cultures. Therefore, I am a firm believer that those of us who work in the tourism industry have an obligation to put something back into the areas where we operate.
In some of the areas we visit you may be able to visit a school, village or cultural centre. If you are lucky enough to experience this, it will probably open your eyes and certainly humble you.
Many local communities live side by side with wild life; yet they gain absolutely no benefit from them or any tourism ventures.
It is my strong belief that for wildlife and their habitats to survive, and tourism to flourish, it is imperative that local communities become involved. That way they directly benefit from eco tourism ventures.
